The DeFi Chronicle: Part 1- How I plan on turning a $50,000 investment into $1 million with Veve and Omi
I remember my first iPod. It was the second version, with the touch-based turn wheel. My close friend, Adam, was an Apple fanboy at the time. He introduced me to the iPod and showed me how easy it was to load music and have your entire cd library in your pocket.
The day after I saw the iPod at Adam’s house, I went out and bought myself one. This purchase represented the end of me going to music stores for CDs, it opened me up to music beyond my typical genres, it virtually ended my reliance on the radio on the spot, and it gave me a device to share with others and spread the word.
In hindsight, had I invested a comparable amount (I think it was about $300 in 2003) in Apple stock at the same time I purchased my iPod, I would look back on that experience with even more glee. But $300 was a lot of money for me back then and stock investing wasn’t a high priority.
When I look back on that moment, I realize that technology combined with music changed the entire music industry and disrupted a model that existed for nearly a century. In a way, this is similar to how Bitcoin combined money with technology. Further, it’s safe to argue combining technology with nearly anything can create great improvements in our lives.
