In regards to Drip, you are correct that just because you have more of something doesn't give it value. The value is assigned by the market. If people feel there is a value, the price goes higher. If they feel there isn't a value the price goes lower and can go to zero.

Look at 99% of cryptos and you will see they have no viable use case. Meanwhile, in Drip, if you think the ecosystem will continue growing it's an opportunity to be a part of the ecosystem. If you see it shrinking, you shouldn't invest in it.

Real estate is also based on perceived value. A home in the desert isn't worth as much as an identical home on the ocean yet both are a place to live and can produce business. Gold is a store of value, but it has failed terribly over the past decade when fiat printing has gone crazy. Does that mean it's still an effective store of value? BTC and ETH are in the same category as Drip- a new decentralized financial system. I can't tell you if people will want to buy Drip in 5 years, but if it continues paying 1% per day and still has a reasonable price, I can't see why they wouldn't.

Comparing Drip to Bitconnect isn't a fair comparison. Bitconnect had completely anonymous devs, no whitepaper, was an independent company, and had no transparency on how they were growing value other than being a crypto lending scheme. This is like you saying, invest in energy companies because people will need more energy in the future. Then I respond and say, Enron was an energy company and they were a fraud so I'm not investing in energy companies.

I appreciate your thought out response. I see your points and they are valid. I've never once said that Drip doesn't carry risk and I recognize its price can drop to zero. However, we are dealing with crypto. At this point, it's all speculation (unless you live in El Salvador). If you are willing to take a risk in crypto, to me it makes sense to take a risk on a successful project with tremendous growth, a gigantic community, and a track record of paying its rewards.
