I love pizza. We eat it with our hands, it’s satisfying, and it’s a great way to eat our vegetables. Kids like pizza, it can be delivered hot to our doorstep the way we order it, and it’s relatively inexpensive. No plate necessary, dippable in ranch (if that’s your thing), and easily mobile…No wonder we eat so much of this delicious food.
Let’s talk about pizza conceptually for a minute. There are millions of different combinations and ways pizza can be created and eaten. We’ve got a variety of crusts, sauces, and toppings capable of sending our taste buds in different directions. I’ve enjoyed dessert pizzas, breakfast pizzas, and I’ve eaten more than my fair share of Mexican pizzas.
Few pizzas are awful. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had some bad pizzas, but most are edible. On the other hand, some pizzas are amazing and they foster a band of loyal followers who will only eat a specific combination or from a small group of restaurants. Let’s face it, some people judge others based upon whether they enjoy pineapple on their pizza.
