How is a primary house not an investment? I’ve heard other people make this statement and don’t understand how home ownership isn’t an investment.
The definition of investment - “the action or process of investing money for profit or a material result.”
The definition of investing-“expend money with the expectation of achieving a profit or material result by putting it into financial plans, shares, or property, or by using it to develop a commercial venture.”
I’m not trying to chastise, but I’d love an explanation of how purchasing a home is “never an investment.”
