How Airdrops convinced me to give Solana a try

Have you ever been to a restaurant and ordered the wrong thing? You know- a Chinese Chicken Salad at a Mexican restaurant or a carne asada burrito at a Chinese restaurant? You order something that they don’t specialize in (your fault) and it ends up being disappointing. While these examples may not exist anywhere, I hope you get the picture.

This has been my experience with Solana…kind of. I used a web wallet and messed up with my seed phrase and lost 187 Sol tokens. My mistake was not checking the web wallet seed phrase after being well versed with Metamask. I wrote about this experience in this article. In the same article, I swore off Solana. But alas, I am relenting and interacting with this year’s darling defi powerhouse.

Why? You ask. I recently read a great Medium article, Identify potential airdrops with DeFiLlama’s Airdrop page written by Stakingbits, and identified a few projects on Solana that I want to interact with in the hopes of getting free airdrops. In the article, Stakingbits refers to visiting https://defillama.com/airdrops to identify projects that can potentially have airdrops in the future.

Why Solana?
