Hey Mike, you raise really good points. I think what you are describing is a logical forecast for how things are going based on the world we are seeing today. And, in the near future, I can see everything you are predicting coming true.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a systemic change caused by AI. If AI displaces jobs permanently, those workers won't have other jobs to transition into. This will cause more crime, unhappiness, and need for change.

By creating a CBDC and UBI, the government will have complete control and surveillance over money. The Fed/government will have various real time levers to ensure inflation remains exactly in line with where they want it. Unlike Covid, where the money was primarily funnelled from the top down, a CBDC, will allow the government to apply stimulus with precision.
