I regularly listen to the YouTube influencer, Bitboy. Lately, he’s been talking about his new Lamborghini purchase. I hope that someday I can make enough in crypto to purchase a Lambo. Of course, I won’t buy a Lambo because that would be stupid. This article focuses on 5 better things that you can invest in than a Lamborghini if you find your bank account is approaching full.
Don’t get me wrong. I love cars. I love exotic cars. The thundering sound of the exhaust, the beautiful curves and sharp lines, the gorgeous women that instantly know you have too much money.
Growing up in the ‘80s, I had Lamborghini Countach and Ferarri Testarossa posters all over my room. In a decade with so many awful cars, these supercars were decades ahead of the competition in styling and performance. Looking at a Countach or Testarossa today, they still look good, but more in the antique good-looking way.
While I would love to drive or even rent a supercar for a few days, it’s not the best way to spend newfound riches. Don’t get me wrong. Everyone can spend their money on whatever they want (as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else). But, purchasing a Lambo isn’t the best way to park wealth that you didn’t have to work for. Here are 5 things that are a better investment.
#1 Real Estate
Earth’s population has been exploding in the past century. Improvements in medicine, childbirth and food production lead to more people being born in the past hundred years than the past 2,000 years combined.
All of these people need a place to live. If you assume that the population will continue growing or level off, then owning real estate makes a lot of sense.
As a bonus, you can live in a house, condo, or multifamily property. It’s kind of hard living in a Lambo. You can rent the house out, borrow against it, and get tax benefits for buying/owning a home.
