A couple of years ago I made a big mistake. You see, I’m not the biggest Jeff Bezos or Amazon fan. And I had to buy a tent for a camping trip so I decided to give Walmart.com a try. This was my big mistake. The entire experience was more disfunctional and convoluted than any other online nightmare I had experienced.

The camping tent came on time. I opened it and decided to do a dry run by pitching it in my front year. This is when I realized a key piece was broken. “No problem,” I thought, “I’ll drive to Wal-Mart and return it.” Unfortunately, after aging in the Wal-Mart return line for a solid half hour, I was informed that I couldn’t return it to Wal-Mart and had to send it back to the third party seller.

What proceeded was several hours of trying to return a broken item by getting in touch with the sellers, and three trips to Wal-Mart. As much as I dislike the ethos behind Amazon, their treatment of employees, and the wealth inequality it creates, at least they do a good job at what they do.
